Dr Ajeet Madhav Wagle is a senior eye specialist who believes in genuinely caring for his patients as his foremost priority. He specializes in the management of retinal diseases, eye injuries, modern microincision cataract surgery, modern microincision glaucoma surgery, laser surgery as well as comprehensive ophthalmology.

Dr Ajeet is currently Senior Consultant and Medical Director at International Eye Cataract Retina Centre at Farrer Park Medical Centre and Mount Elizabeth Medical Centre. He is also a Visiting Consultant at the Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences, Khoo Teck Puat Hospital.

Dr Ajeet’s past major appointments include Clinical Senior Lecturer at the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, National University of Singapore and Part-time Lecturer at Optometry Centres of Singapore Polytechnic and Ngee Ann Polytechnic.

Dr Ajeet is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons, Edinburgh, UK and the Academy of Medicine, Singapore. After completing Basic and Advanced Surgical Training in Ophthalmology, Dr Ajeet completed his Clinical Fellowship in Vitreoretinal Diseases at the renowned top eye institution in India – Sankara Nethralaya, Medical Research Foundation, Chennai.

With a keen interest in research, Dr Ajeet has published many papers in peer-reviewed local and international scientific journals. He also has a book and two book chapters to his credit. He has been conferred many awards including the Best Outgoing Student (Gold medal) by the Medical Research Foundation, India, and the Health Services Excellence (Silver) Award by Alexandra Hospital, National Healthcare Group, Singapore.

Dr Ajeet has been actively involved in raising awareness of age-related macular degeneration (AMD) in Singapore and led the nation-wide AMD Awareness Week campaign in Singapore from 2008-2011 as Chairman of the Organising Committee. He was successfully awarded the Public Health Education Grant from Ministry of Health for the AMD Awareness Week campaign for six consecutive years.

Dr Ajeet has won many awards including a Gold Medal for the Best Outgoing Student at Medical Research Foundation, Chennai, India, Distinction in Basic Science Assessment Test of the International Council of Ophthalmology, many named Research Prizes for Best Oral Presentations and an Outstanding Published Research Paper at the National Healthcare Group Eye Institute Research Day. He has also won numerous Service Champion Awards such as the Health Services Excellence Silver Award at Alexandra Hospital, Meritorious Service Award and Service Champion Award at Khoo Teck Puat Hospital.
