Professional Statement

Dr Menon is a renowned senior consultant surgeon, specializing in colorectal and general surgery. He is adept and well versed in endoscopy, open and keyhole surgeries. Dr Menon spent close to 2 and a half decades anchoring key hospital positions in the United Kingdom as a consultant surgeon, before finally returning to Singapore as a Singhealth Senior Consultant Surgeon. He has performed >6000 surgeries till date, yet continues to remain committed to lifelong learning. He aims to establish an ethical, cost-effective practice for his patients and their families.

One of the early pioneer batches of surgeons, he was invited by the International Royal College of Surgeons (Glasgow, UK) to take up multiple consultancy positions in the United Kingdom. A very rare feat for a foreign trained surgeon back in those days! Having performed more than 6000 procedures to date, Dr Menon still continues to adapt and re-invent himself. A humanitarian at heart, he has volunteered in war zones in his younger days as well. After spending decades operating overseas, Dr Menon was invited back to Singapore to take up a senior consultant position in the Singhealth Cluster. He continued to operate, whilst teaching and training junior surgeons here. After his public service, he has decided to pursue a career in private practice. Dr Menon’s vision and hope is to develop a cost-effective, ethical and humanistic practice that rivals the top centers in the world.
